Makarim & Taira S. is one of Indonesia’s leading corporate and finance law firms. It was founded in 1980 by Harvard graduates Nono Anwar Makarim and Frank Taira Supit, and has since grown to become a multi-disciplinary practice with 51 fee-earners and 50 support staff. The Firm’s personnel represent and demonstrate a comprehensive range of expertise and experience in both Indonesian and international law and business practices. The Firm has significant expertise and a well-established reputation in such practice areas as corporate/commercial, finance, major projects (including power, telecommunications and ports), debt restructuring and e-commerce.

The Firm serves both foreign and domestic clients including multinational corporate, banking and oil and gas/mining/infrastructure clients as well as certain core Indonesian clients. In addition, the Firm acts for other institutions such as embassies, government departments, international schools, charities and international agencies.
