Liedekerke is the largest independent Belgian law firm today, with over 130 lawyers in Brussels and in its office in London.
Liedekerke’s Complex and International Litigation and Arbitration Practice Group offers specialist litigation services to our clients and to partners in other departments of the firm. The Practice Group specialises in the resolution of high profile and complex disputes, particularly in terms of their international dimension, as well as their legal, strategic or economic stakes.
The cases we deal with typically involve foreign parties, litigation and arbitration abroad, securing enforcement in Belgium or abroad, preventing enforcement in Belgium of foreign judgments/awards or organizing multi-country claims or defence strategies.
We represent our clients before the widest range of courts and tribunals. These include the Belgian courts, as well as those of other European jurisdictions, arbitral tribunals set up under the ICC rules, UNCITRAL and the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the arbitral tribunals and Annulment Committees of the ICSID (World Bank), the European Court of Human Rights and the Human Rights Committee of the United Nations, the International Court of Justice and the subsidiary institutions of the UN Security Council. We also assist clients in the matter of alternative modes of dispute resolution, such as conciliation and mediation.
