International Law Affiliates (ILA) was established in 1998. The firm has represented foreign governments and their embassies, multinational corporate clients and several airlines, as well as Indian corporate clients seeking excellence in quality, an understanding of complexity, and an international perspective. We handled the transition of an American airline’s assets to another, ensuring that corporate liabilities from the former carrier’s assets were not transferred to our client and in August 2010 we won a prolonged High Court battle on this point. We commonly advise on domestic and international joint-ventures, handling both entry strategies and outbound investments, collaborations and arrangements for wholly owned subsidiaries. The firm provides corporate & commercial law related advice, representation and solutions. Our dispute resolution and regulatory compliance practice has handled multi-jurisdictional and complex issues, in the Supreme Court of India, various Tribunals and several High Courts. We are one of the few law firms in the country with international law expertise having assisted several foreign governments including Australia, Canada, France, and the European Union. The firm has its chambers in New Delhi’s central business district at Connaught Place, and affiliate relationships with Mumbai, Bangalore and Chandigarh law firms as also a representative advocate in Kolkata.
