Anna Morfey is a lawyer specialising in antitrust litigation. She has a Masters degree in European Law (specialising in competition law) from the College of Europe, Bruges. Before moving to the London office in 2006, she worked for three years in the Brussels office on a wide range of competition litigation matters, including the European Commission’s proceedings against Microsoft and other proceedings before the European Court of First Instance.
Recent experience includes:
- Representing PLUS in a claim for declaratory relief and damages in the English High Court against the London Stock Exchange for competition law infringements (Article 81 and 82) in its rule making relating to the trading of securities on alternative exchanges
- Defending Siemens in a damages claim by National Grid for damages arising from the Gas Insulated Switchgear cartel in the English High Court
- Defending a party in the antitrust investigation conducted by the European Commission in relation to the marine hose cartel
- Acting for KONE in its appeal to the CFI of the European Commission's decision in the Elevators and Escalators cartel
- Acting for CCIA, ECIS and SIIA (industry associations intervening in support of the European Commission) in the European Commission’s Article 82 investigation into Microsoft, and in Microsoft’s subsequent appeal and request for interim measures before the Court of First Instance
- Advising the immunity applicant in the OFT’s investigation into price fixing in bank loans to professional services firms
- Advising a UK blue-chip following a dawn raid by the European Commission and OFT in a case alleging breaches of Articles 81 and/or 82 EC
- Numerous merger filings to the European Commission (phase I and phase II) and to national competition authorities
