Position
Stephen specialises in competition law, healthcare & pharmaceutical, corporate law, and mergers and acquisitions.
He established and heads up the practice area of competition law, where he has successfully acted in numerous local and international merger approvals, prohibited practice litigation and other anti-trust advisory work.
Stephen advises on the general legislative framework as well as specific issues affecting their businesses such as pricing, distribution, registration and advertising of medicines and licensing of pharmacies and doctors. He also has extensive experience in dealing with the Medicine Control Council.
His experience also includes acting for multi-national firms on a range of corporate and commercial agreements, including mergers and acquisitions.

- Acting for the liquid fuels industry in an exemption application on behalf of the major fuel corporations
- Acting for a client in the steel industry in the first alleged excessive pricing matter which was litigated before the tribunal and Competition Appeal Court.
- Representing an acquiring firm in an iron ore deposit merger
- Advising a major producer in a merger in the cement industry
- Representing various building industry members in regard to the industry wide investigation
- Acting for parties in the grain industry investigation
- Acting for a leading multi-national in the air freight industry investigation.
