Florence Ninane is a partner in the EU and Competition practice of Allen & Overy Paris. She has developed competence in the areas of French and European competition law (mergers, anti-trust and state aid issues) and has also developed a specific expertise in distribution law matters. She regularly assists companies with their French, EU and multi-jurisdictional merger notifications. She also represents companies in competition law litigations before Competition authorities and national courts.
She has developed a specific expertise in the energy sector, advising new entrants and traders on the French energy market on a number of regulatory and competition matters in the electricity and gas sectors. She particularly advises clients on authorisation and declaration requirements to operate on the French market (licence applications), contracts for access to the networks, balancing mechanisms, adjustment mechanism, virtual power plant auctions, EFET agreements, contributions to be paid to operate on the French energy market, and rules applicable to the access to Powernext. She has also assisted energy suppliers in drafting contracts for supply of electricity to French customers.
