Marcelo Calliari – Co-chair of the Antitrust and International Trade Groups at TozziniFreire Advogados. He was commissioner of the Administrative Economic Defense Council (CADE), the Brazilian Competition Commission, from 1998 to 2000. Lawyer and economist, obtained an LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School (1996) and a Doctor of Laws degree in International Law from the University of São Paulo School of Law (2003). Currently holds the positions of President of Brazilian Institute of Studies on Competition, Consumer Law and International Trade – IBRAC; Vice-chair of the IBA Trade and Customs Law Committee; Chair of the Competition Group of the American Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo; member of the Editorial Board of the publication “Competition Law International” of the IBA – International Bar Association. Marcelo writes and speaks frequently on competition themes around the world. He participated as non-governmental advisor in several conferences of the ICN and as member of the official Brazilian delegation at various antitrust negotiations held at the WTO, OECD and MERCOSUR. In addition, he has worked as an editorial writer and New York correspondent for the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo, the largest daily paper in Brazil.
