Ms. Janice Chew is a qualified Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaysia specialising in commercial litigations and shareholders dispute cases in Malaysia. She has handled a wide spectrum of civil and commercial litigations as well as insolvency cases. She has appeared before many courts and arbitral tribunals of various states in Malaysia. In 2008, Ms Chew acted in a high profile minority shareholder’s action where complex issues of law and fact arose. She has also acted against a company and its director for, inter alia, breach of trust and successfully obtained and executed freezing orders and search orders.

She also has considerable experience in legal advisory work where she regularly advises clients in different sectors such as direct sales companies, liquidators, receivers and managers of insolvency companies on documentation and also various commercial agreements.

She has now joined the firm in HK as a Registered Foreign Lawyer specialising in product liability laws and practice in Asia. She is part of the coordination team which helps to oversee and manage all product liability customer complaints matters and lawsuits in Asia including Japan, PRC, HK and Taiwan. She also advises on regulatory advisory issues of the clients including vetting owner’s manuals and technical documents.
