Eszter Zádori is a senior associate with more than 10 years of experience specializing in energy law. She also represents clients from a range of business sectors on general corporate and mergers & acquisitions matters.
Ms. Zádori has particular experience in the electricity sector, where she has advised clients on a comprehensive range of end-user and wholesale electricity transactions, as well as on the establishment and start-up of a retail electricity sales division.
Ms. Zádori has advised a major market participant in connection with power purchase agreements, including the termination of long-term power purchase agreements entered into in the 1990s as a result of a decision of the European Commission. She also has significant experience in the licensing and development of power generation, including wind power and other renewable energy projects, and has advised investors on incentive schemes in relation to renewable, waste-based and cogeneration power plant projects.
As part of her gas industry experience, Ms. Zádori has advised clients on various regulatory matters, including gas-fired power plant developments and issues concerning tariff regulations.
Within her extensive energy practice, Eszter has represented a wide range of international and domestic clients, including CEZ – the Czech energy conglomerate, MOL – the Hungarian oil and gas company and Hungary’s largest company, MVM – the Hungarian electricity conglomerate, the Hungarian Energy Office, Energy Financing Team, and Power Exchange Central Europe.
Prior to joining Weil’s Budapest office in 2008, Ms. Zádori served as legal counsel for E.ON Hungária, the Hungarian subsidiary of E.ON.
