Tomáš Čihula is a Managing Associate in the Corporate and Competition practices at Kinstellar Prague. Tomáš studied at Charles University Prague in the Czech Republic (JUDr., Ph.D.) and at Ludwig–Maximilans University Munich in Germany (LL.M. Eur.). Tomáš previously worked in an international law firm in Prague and he also spent three years at a leading independent competition law firm (Van Bael & Bellis) in Brussels. Furthermore, he worked at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition in Brussels. At Kinstellar, Tomáš is a Managing Associate focusing mainly on competition, state aid, public procurement, European law and regulatory matters. During his career, he has advised a large number of multinational clients (such as BMW, Canon, Coca-Cola, E.ON, GlaxoSmithKline, OTIS, Siemens, Sony, Tesco) on various matters, from EC antitrust proceedings, Czech and Slovak merger control regulations to regulatory aspects of doing business in Emerging Europe. Tomáš has also advised clients on state aid issues with respect to their greenfield investments in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and has experience with rules governing investment incentives in the above jurisdictions and related procedures. Tomáš is a member of the Czech Bar Association. He speaks – apart from his native Czech – English and German.
