Daniel Pérez-Orive joined Suárez de la Dehesa in 2010. He is part of the Intellectual Property legal team and with his Master degree on Intellectual Property, he specializes in multimedia and Video Game law.
Before joining the firm he worked as a lawyer at Peña Abogados S.L.P. in the Litigation and Dispute resolution department, and at Pérez-Orive & Asociados, both law firms based in Madrid. He was hired also as a legal consultant in the Corporate Department of the Standard Bank of New York in 1996 and afterwards studied for over 6 years to become a notary public.
With almost 7 years of legal experience, Daniel participates in civil and criminal cases, all related to audio-visual contents and copyright infringements.
As a speaker he has been invited by ESNE, a Spanish University School for Design, to talk about protection and defence of video games on the Internet, and he has also participated in the Master degree course on Intellectual Property at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid to talk about multi media works.
This year, he will publish his first book on “Video Games: the works of art of the digital era”, which covers all different legal aspects of these audio-visual works.
