José A. Suárez is Managing Partner of the firm together with his brother Fernando Suárez. He is the Head of the Intellectual Property Area and with his wide experience in the audio-visual industry, provides comprehensive legal advice in complicated co-production agreements, both national and international, financial negotiations for audio-visual projects or legal discussions for the protection and defence of Copyrights in public bodies and media European programs.

Recognized as an expert in the field, José A. Suárez is a frequent speaker at conferences and symposia in Spain and worldwide. One of his latest contributions was to explain the most important legal aspects in all possible production agreements in the TAREULA sessions, a course meant for Latin-American and Spanish producers, which aims to promote international co-productions on both sides of the Atlantic coast.

He is also teacher in Master degrees at the Universidad Carlos III and at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas ICADE-ICAI in Madrid.

Last but not least, Jose A. Suarez has been lately entitled Arbitrator of the WIPO Media Panel as well as Arbitrator for the Madrid Chamber of Commerce. He is the Secretary General of two well-known bodies, the Audio-Visual Producers’ Rights Collecting Society and the Madrid Film Commission, and member of the Ibermedia Court of Arbitration, the International Bar Association, the Literary and Artistic Association for the Defence of the Authors’ Rights and the European Film Academy and the Iberoamerican Institute for the Defence of the Authors’ Rights.
