Fiorella Alvino is a partner at Ughi e Nunziante. She specialises in commercial law, corporate law, private equity, M&A and capital markets, with additional focus on international joint ventures. She has contributed to several articles on legal subjects, in particular commercial and contractual law. She has assisted corporate clients and credit institutions in several major national and international transactions. Ms Alvino was named first among female business lawyers in Italy by “Top Legal” magazine in 2006. This was based on opinions from business lawyers in national and international law firms and in-house counsels selected from those listed in “Legal 500” and “Chambers and Partners”. The criteria included the importance of the clients and institutions represented, and the ability to manage work. Nominated by Who’s Who Legal as one of the leading practitioners in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 in the “Merger & Acquisition’ sector in Italy, and for 2010 also in the “Corporate Governance” sector following a worldwide survey of clients and customers. Winner in 2011 of the “ILO Client Choice Award” in the General Corporate sector, given out by the International Law Office (ILO) on the basis of assessments conducted worldwide among in-house lawyers of international companies. A graduate of the University of Milan (Hons), she attended the seminar in legal studies at Salzburg, and the programme on the US legal system at Georgetown University. She also received an LLM from Harvard Law School and spent one year as an intern of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York.
