Sophie Sha is a partner of Jade & Fountain PRC Lawyers and is based in the firm’s Beijing office.
Before joining the firm, Ms Sha practiced in a top international law firm. She also served as legal counsel at one of the world’s largest energy companies and at a commercial bank listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. In addition to her extensive experience in M&A, general corporate, and foreign investment, Ms Sha also specialises in projects, including infrastructure development, power plants, oil and gas, mining and construction, as well as project finance. Ms Sha has extensive experience in assisting Chinese clients with their outbound M&A transactions and infrastructure development projects and foreign clients in their investments and various projects in China.
Ms Sha serves clients in a broad array of industries and sectors. She has represented BP, Shell, ArrowEnergy, Husky Oil, Disney, Rio Tinto, BMW, SK Energy, PetroChina, CNOOC, Sinopec, State Grid, China Construction, China Electricity Investment, China Road, Caterpillar, Agricultural Bank of China, Siemens, BlueScope, and various other Chinese and foreign large and growth companies.
In addition, Ms Sha has acted for many high profile Chinese state-owned enterprises in their outbound investments, including a number of M&A transactions in Africa and South America.
She received her LLM at the China University of Political Science & Law and her LLB at the China University of Political Science & Law. She was admitted to the bar at The People’s Republic of China.
She speaks native Mandarin and fluent English.
