Lawrence is a Chinese international lawyer specialising in cross-border M&As (both inbound and outbound), foreign direct investment (FDI), JVs, PE and VC fund formation and investments, securities offerings and IPOs, anti-monopoly, and general corporate.

Lawrence serves clients in a broad array of industries and sectors, including many multinationals that are doing business in China and Chinese companies engaged in international transactions. He had practised law in China offices of two international law firms for 10 years.

In M&A and JV areas, some clients he had advised include Caterpillar in entering into joint ventures and acquiring businesses in China, China-Africa Development Fund in making acquisitions in Egypt, Seagate Technology in acquisition of an American company with China-related assets, Alcoa in proposed joint ventures and cooperation with multiple Chinese listed companies, KONE in entering into joint ventures and business acquisitions in China, ExxonMobil and Saudi Aramco Oil in establishing multiple petrochemical and gas station joint ventures in China, and Lufthansa in acquiring air cargo warehousing business in China.

Lawrence frequently publishes and is quoted in renowned magazines, newspapers, and other media in China and abroad, such as China Law & Practice, Asian Legal Business, China Economic Times, World Bank publications. He also speaks in varied legal and business conferences and seminars from time to time.

He is admitted in the PRC and the New York State. Lawrence had studied law in China and the United States. He speaks native Chinese Mandarin and fluent English.
