LEI LI is an associate in the firm’s Beijing office, focusing on M&A and private equity transactions and antitrust counselling. Before his relocation to Beijing, he worked in the firm’s New York office for 3 years.

Mr. Li advises multinational companies and private equity funds in a variety of corporate transactions in China, including M&A, divestitures and establishment of joint ventures.

He has extensive experience in antitrust counselling in China, particularly merger clearances. He has provided China merger clearance advice in, among others, a high-profile global acquisition transaction and a multi-billion U.S. dollar joint venture project in China. He regularly advises on antitrust compliance of companies’ commercial activities in China.

Mr. Li also assists clients in cross-border litigation matters, and has substantial experience in assisting multinational companies and their Chinese subsidiaries in investigations under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) of the U.S., and Chinese companies in Section 337 Investigations before the United States International Trade Commission (ITC).

When he worked in the firm’s New York office, Mr. Li was heavily involved in life sciences regulatory matters in the U.S., advising clients on FDA regulation of pharmaceuticals and GMP matters, and has had a special focus in the pharmaceutical industry in all of his practice areas.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Li worked in the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China for eight years, overseeing the resolution of inter-governmental trade disputes and coordinating complex commercial litigation in foreign jurisdictions involving Chinese companies.
