Geen Kim is a partner in the Securities & Finance Team, specializing in the areas of financial investment products, compliance issues relating to financial law, collective investment schemes, project finance, IPOs and international investments. Ms. Kim has advised a number of major international and Korean financial institutions with respect to Korean financial products (including various types of securities, derivatives and structured instruments) and regulatory and compliance issues concerning especially the Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act (the “FSCMA”) and the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act.

Ms. Kim has been actively involved in the establishment of collective investment vehicles, including private equity funds, infrastructure funds, special funds targeting venture companies, and other types of funds under the FSCMA and the Indirect Investment Asset Management Business Act (the predecessor of the FSCMA) and funds established offshore. Some examples of her work in this field include the setting up of Macquarie Korea Opportunities Fund, Korea Emerging Infrastructure Fund, Korea BTL Infrastructure Fund and Asia Pacific Venture Investment Partnership Limited.

Ms. Kim has also been a legal advisor for precedent-setting IPOs of both local and foreign companies. She has advised Tong Yang Life Insurance with respect to the listing of its shares on the Korea Exchange - the first ever IPO of a life insurance company in Korea. Ms. Kim has also assisted a number of foreign corporations such as Huafeng Textile in connection with their listing on the Korea Exchange.
