Maria Brandão is an experienced M&A attorney with sound and strong expertise in all areas of law that support M&A transactions, in particular corporate, capital market, civil and contractual, real estate, agribusiness and information technology. As part of her experience, Maria Brandão has worked in several worldwide transactions involving purchases and sales, mergers, demergers, consolidation and reorganization projects that include Brazilian businesses. As a result of her practice with global transactions and her expertise on Brazilian law and traditions, Maria Brandão has developed a particular capacity to reliably represent foreign companies with interests in Brazil and Brazilian parties with focus on international affairs. Since 1975 Maria Brandão is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), branch in the state of São Paulo. She is also a member of international organizations of lawyers as the International Association of Practicing Lawyers – IAPL – and International Bar Association – IBA. Maria Brandão has previously been a partner at two other leading firms in Brazil and has published several articles in M&A and real estate transactions in Brazil. Currently Maria Brandão is completing masters degree classes at the Law School of the Universidade de São Paulo with a focus on “corporate governance” and “conflict of interests” matters. Maria Brandão is fluent in Portuguese, English, French and Italian.
