María Fernanda Carvajal is a partner of Carey y Cía.´s Banking and Financial Group and co-head of the Project Financing Group. Her practice focus in project financing; energy, mining and port laws; foreign investments, and securities law.

Ms. Carvajal has been involved in legal research for the Public Law Department, of the Universidad Adolfo Ibañez School of Law, and the National Congress. As well, she has acted at the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez School of Law as an Assistant Professor of Civil Law (1999- present), of Introductory Law (2002), and of Constitutional Law (1997-1998). She is a member of the Chilean Bar Association.

Ms. Carvajal studied law at the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. She was awarded the ‘Best Student Award’ in 1995, the ‘Valparaíso-Chile Bar Association Award’ in 1995, the ‘Best Assistant Professor Award’ in 1997, the ‘Best Bachelor Award’ in 1998, the ‘Valparaíso-Chile Bar Association Award’ in 1998, and the ‘Best Assistant Professor Award’ in 1999. She was admitted to the Bar in 1999.

She is fluent in Spanish and English.
