IGNACIO ALONSO is attorney-at-Law and Founding Partner of Advocatia Abogados. He obtained a Law Degree at the University of Comillas-ICADE (Spain) and a “Licence Spéciale en Droit Communautaire et Européen” at the Brussels Free University (Belgium).
He has presented several seminars and conferences in commercial and EU matters and has been professor at several universities: Antitrust Law Conference: Spanish Competition Law (Cambridge, UK, 1994); Lecturer of EU Competition and Corporate Law courses at the Centre for European Studies and Law Department (University of Alcalá de Henares – Madrid: 1994 – 2003); Introduction to Competition Law (Public Administration School in La Rioja (Spain), 2000). He is from 2006 Associate Professor of Commercial Law at the Universidad Autónoma (Madrid).
He is also author of some publications in the distribution or competition field: Parallel imports in the EU. Special Consideration to Section 47 of the Incorporation Act. (Ed. Pharmaceutical Studies Centre, 1995); Competition Laws of Europe. (Spain) (Ed. Butterworths, 1995); The goodwill indemnity amount in distribution contracts in Spain. The Supreme Court decision of January 15, 2008 (Wirtshaft Magazine of the German Chamber of commerce in Spain, June-July 2008); Case-law criteria on goodwill compensation in agency and distribution agreements (in “Treinta años de integración europea”. Ed. Jurua (2009)). He is also author of the Getting the Deal Through Franchise 2011 edition.
Ignacio Alonso is also the Country Expert for Spain at the International Distribution Institute and speaks native Spanish and fluent French, English and Italian.
