Marc Laurin is a partner and former head of the litigation group at the Montréal office of Stikeman Elliott. Mr Laurin's practice is focused on litigation and conflict resolution, particularly in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate, construction, product liability and energy law. He has participated in numerous commercial arbitrations and mediations. Furthermore, he has appeared before most Quebec courts and tribunals including proceedings relating to municipal tax matters. Mr Laurin is the head of the Stikeman Elliott Montréal construction group.
Mr Laurin is a member of the Barreau du Québec, the Canadian Bar Association, the International Council of Shopping Centres, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators CIArb: International Centre for Arbitration & Mediation, The London Court of International Arbitration: LCIA North American Users' Council, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montréal and their Economic Development Committee as well as the Urban Development Institute of Quebec. He often gives talks at public and in-house seminars on his various areas of practice. He is also responsible for a legal component (construction law) for the Master's in Business Administration (MBA) - Real Estate at the Université du Québec à Montréal.
