John Judge is a senior commercial litigation partner and experienced arbitration practitioner at Stikeman Elliott LLP in Toronto. He has appeared as counsel before trial and appellate courts including the Supreme Court of Canada and also before arbitration tribunals, both domestic and international. John also sits as an arbitrator and has chaired substantial international arbitrations, both ad hoc and institutional through the ICC. He has been appointed sole arbitrator in domestic arbitrations.
His practice as counsel and arbitrator embraces a wide variety of commercial disputes including mining/oil and gas joint ventures, engineering and construction disputes for large industrial, mining, petrochemical and nuclear projects, technology disputes, including outsourcing, software development and implementation of enterprise solutions, banking and investment disputes regarding projects not only in Canada, but also in Eastern Europe, Central and South America and Asia.
He is vice president, North American Users Council for the LCIA, member of the Canadian Panel of Arbitrators for the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the International Chamber of Commerce, international panel member for the ICDR and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (F CIArb).
