Patrick is a corporate partner in the Dubai office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Before relocating to the Middle East in early 2008, Patrick spent over 10 years in our London corporate team working on a variety of corporate matters including M&A, corporate governance, securities issues and corporate reorganisations. Patrick’s experience includes a number of secondments, both internally (in our Hong Kong office) and with some of our key financial institutions clients (Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley and Lloyd’s). Patrick has led our MENA corporate team on a number of high profile M&A deals, including transactions that resulted in the team winning both M&A Team of the Year and M&A Deal of the Year at the IFLR Middle East Awards in 2010. Patrick was lead partner advising Citigroup Global Markets Limited and Deutsche Securities Saudi Arabia in relation to Kingdom Holding Company’s cash offer to buy all outstanding shares in Kingdom Hotel Investments, valuing the company at $843 million as well as advising ABN AMRO Bank on the demerger of its UAE private banking business from The Royal Bank of Scotland and the UAE law aspects of its merger with Fortis Bank.
