Ryan Wessels is a senior associate in the firm’s Corporate department working under Ezra Davids, the head of the firm’s Corporate Practice area. He focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity capital markets and general commercial law. In this respect, he has experience in advising on all aspects of merger and acquisitions transactions for listed and unlisted companies. Ryan has also worked on various domestic and international debt (bonds, notes) and equity issuances and BEE transactions. In addition, he regularly advises investment banks and private equity funds on South Africa’s securities, banking and financial services regulations, including financial advisory services, collective investment schemes (mutual funds) and securities lending transactions. In 2008, he completed a seven month secondment stint at Deutsche Bank AG in which he gained invaluable experience in corporate finance and debt and equity capital markets related work.
