Sung Man KIM is the vice president of the Antitrust Community of the Seoul Bar Association, and is renowned as a leading specialist in competition law. Mr. Kim had worked over 10 years with the KFTC and held key posts including Head of the Monopoly Monitoring Team, International Affairs Team, Standardized Contract Team and E-Commerce Protection Team.
Mr. Kim has handled many significant antitrust cases and the following are examples of such cases. 1) In semiconductor, CRT international cartel investigation cases, Mr. Kim successfully represented for domestic and foreign companies before several competition authorities including KFTC in investigation procedure and related civil suits 2) Effectively represented companies in corporate mergers on an international scale (global iron ore market) to foreign competition authorities as well as to the KFTC. 3) Effectively represented companies (Samsung Electronics) susceptible to investigation by KFTC through limiting the scope of investigation, such as the computers of executives and staff, to bring about a ground-breaking ruling in appeal court 4) represented 12 banks in the case regarding fixed fee rates and overturned the KFTC’s original verdict in appeal court.
Along with his experience in the KFTC, as an expert in competition laws emphasizing on proactive and comprehensive advisory, Mr. Kim has helped various domestic and foreign clients in efficient and systematic way.
