Philippe Bhering is a graduate of the Candido Mendes University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (LL.B.) and holds a master’s degree (LL.M.) from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, Germany. He has worked as Guest Researcher at the Max-Planck-Institut für Geistiges Eigentum, Wettbewerbs- und Steuerrecht, and as a Research Assistant at the International Max Planck Research School for Competition and Innovation. He is a current PhD candidate at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität.

He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association (Rio de Janeiro), also of ABPI – Brazilian Intellectual Property Association; INTA – International Trademark Association; GRUR – Deutsche Vereinigung für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht e.V.; AIJA – Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats, and MARQUES (Association of European Trademark Owners).

He is a member of the Enforcement Committee of the International Trademark Association – INTA (2010-2011 term) and of the Trademark Law and Practice Team of MARQUES (2010-2012 term).

Philippe Bhering specializes in Trademarks, Licensing, Enforcement against Unfair Competition and Counterfeiting, and Civil Litigation.

He speaks Portuguese, English and German.
