Juan Guillermo Ruiz is a founding partner of Posse, Herrera & Ruiz. He heads the Tax Planning and International Commerce practice group. His practice focuses on taxation, principally centered on tax planning for cross-border transactions.
He has worked on tax structure and planning for mergers, acquisitions and other major projects and transactions for several industries, including infrastructure, oil and gas, mining, energy, water supply, telecommunications, finance, retail and health care. He also has ample experience in developing tax structures for project finance and government bids with international components, and in the creation of free trade zones.
Juan Guillermo is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Colombian Tax Law Institute (ICDT). He has a JD from the Universidad Javeriana, a Masters degree in administrative law from Universidad del Rosario, and a degree in business management from Inalde Business School of Universidad de la Sabana. His native language is Spanish and he is fluent in English.
