Claudio Lizana is a senior member of Carey y Cía.’s Corporate / Mergers & Acquisitions Group and Head of the Antitrust Group. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, business law, securities, and antitrust and trade regulations. Lately, he has focused on developing and leading the Antitrust Law Group Practice at Carey y Cía. In year 2000, he was appointed partner of the firm. As of 1988, he has combined his private practice activities with academic work. At present, he is professor of Economic Law at the Universidad de Chile Law School. Also, he is co-author of the book Dumping and Disloyal International Competition (1995). He has participated as leading attorney in several transactions involving important domestic and foreign companies within all economic areas, including the government of Chile in the negotiation, design and implementation of certain processes for the incorporation of private equity to state-owned companies. Mr. Lizana studied law at the Universidad de Chile and was admitted to the Bar in 1990. In 1993, he received a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the Harvard University Law School. The same year, he studied Politics of Global Finance in the London School of Economics and Political Science. Mr. Lizana is also a member of the Center for Antitrust Studies at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
