Viviana Guadagni is the partner in charge of the Competition Law Department at Quevedo Abogados. Her professional work is focused on advising clients before the antitrust authorities and judicial courts on matters related to merger control and conduct cases. On matters related to merger control she advises on the transaction’ structure, implications of shareholders’ and other relevant agreements and the preparation and follow up of the administrative procedures. She also provides advice and represents clients on matters concerning conduct cases where she has advised important firms in high profile investigations, including cross industry practices and alleged cartel cases. She also advises clients about potential antitrust effects from the commercial agreements they enter and assists them in the elaboration of commercial guidelines in order to comply with antitrust legislation.

Viviana Guadagni served as Commissioner of the National Antitrust Commission during the period when the merger control became enforced and participated actively in the implementation of the new regime. As a Commissioner she also represented Argentina before the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and in the Antitrust Committee of the Mercosur.

She is constantly recognized for her professional work by different publications such as Leading Individual, in the area of Antitrust by Chambers Latin America, World’s Leading Competition and Antitrust Lawyers/Economists, World’s Leading Emerging Markets Practitioners, World’s Leading Women in Business Law ( by Legal Media Group, publisher of the International Financial Law Review and Euromoney Expert Guides), and PLC Which Lawyer?, among others.

She is a Professor of Antitrust Law at the Masters in Business Law of the Universidad de San Andrés (2000 to date) and the Academic Coordinator of the Masters Degree in Business Law of the Universidad de San Andrés (2001 to date). She has also been Professor of Public Law, Constitutional Law and Law I at the Universidad de San Andrés; Professor of Antitrust Law at the Masters Degree in Law and Economics of the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella; and Professor of European Integration, European Module Jean Monnet, Università di Bologna. In addition, she has been invited as Professor of Antitrust Law in post graduated courses at the Law School of the Universidad de Buenos Aires and the Universidad de Palermo and has been speaker and moderator on topics concerning competition law at several national and international seminars.

She has published several articles and book chapters in prestigious national and international publications.

She graduated with honours from Law School at the Universidad Católica Argentina in 1988 and holds a DBS degree with honours from London School of Economics and Political Sciences, London, United Kingdom (1995).

At present she is President of the Antitrust Commission of the Buenos Aires City Lawyers Association.
