Thijs is a partner in the Finance practice group of the firm’s Amsterdam office and is a civil law notary (notaris). Thijs specialises in restructuring and insolvency, leveraged finance and structured finance, including tax structured products. He also has broad experience in corporate law (i.e. general M&A, joint ventures, complex international and multi-jurisdictional reorganisations and restructurings).

Thijs completed his studies (notarial) law at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and was further educated at McGill University (Montreal, Quebec, Canada). He regularly lectures on various topics of finance law. Thijs speaks fluent Dutch and English and has as a good working knowledge of French.
