Amir Singh Pasrich read law at Oxford and trained in London before returning to India at a time when the Government of India had just started liberalising the economy in 1991-92. From 1992 to 1996 he was an associate with the legendary Indian law firm of J. B. Dadachanji & Co. as an advocate in the Supreme Court of India and as a corporate lawyer. He is Managing Partner of the law firm International Law Affiliates now called ILA Pasrich & Company, which he co-founded in 1998. He has handled a wide variety of corporate advisory work coupled with corporate litigation and arbitration. In 2006, Mr. Pasrich was appointed “Agent of Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada”, he is advisor to several Governments and High Commissions/Embassies in India. He has advised the Delegation of the European Commission, E.A.D.S., the Canadian High Commission, the French Embassy and several Fortune500 companies. He is also General Counsel for Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in India. He advises and represents several airlines, multi-nationals and eminent Indian companies. In February 2008 he was appointed General Counsel to Fabindia one of India’s largest retail chains.

Mr. Pasrich is currently a Co-chair of the International Sales Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA) and a member of the IBA’s India Advisory Group. In 1999-2000 he taught business law at the Indian Society of International Law and Diplomacy in New Delhi. He has been a director of Only Research Pvt. Ltd. – a company that set up one of India’s first Legal Process Outsourcing companies. From 2003 to July 2006 he was an independent director on the board of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (one of India’s largest steel companies). Until April 2009, he was Chair of the Indo-Canadian Business Chamber (North India). He has handled corporate contentious matters in the Supreme Court of India, various Indian High Courts and before specialist Tribunals/Commissions for competition law (the MRTP Commission), labour law, insolvency and financial reconstruction etc. Mr. Pasrich has travelled over four continents and has presented papers at many conferences of the International Bar Association, Union Internationale des Avocates, LawAsia, The Law Society of England and Wales etc. both abroad and in India on commercial law subjects covering cross-border transactions, due diligence, joint ventures, e-commerce transactions, priority and title retention, international sales, competition law, labour law and aviation. Named one of the few Indian lawyers in the Who’s Who Legal for Aviation law, Real Estate and Franchising, he has also been recognised as a “Leading Lawyer for General Corporate Practice” by Asialaw (a Euromoney publication) in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. A citation in the 2009 Chambers Asia describes Mr. Pasrich as “extremely methodical and rigorous”. He is also recommended amongst the top 25 M&A lawyers in India by Chambers Asia and is recognised in the 2012 edition of Legal500 as having an “excellent reputation within the aviation industry”.

Amir Singh Pasrich also holds a first degree in Science from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and a law degree from Worcester College, Oxford; he speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi and some German. He has an ‘Oxford Blue’ for Polo and is an alumnus of The Doon School where he earned The Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award. He lives in the suburbs of New Delhi and is married with two children. He enjoys reading, polo, squash, golf and travel.
