Dr. Ursula Widmer, Rechtsanwältin, attorney-at-law, is founding partner of the law firm Dr. Widmer & Partners in Berne/Switzerland specialising exclusively in Information Technology, Internet, E-Business and Telecommunications Law for more than 25 years.

She is a lecturer in IT and Internet law at the University of Berne and a lecturer in Information Security Law at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ).

She is a former member of the Swiss Government’s Expert Commission for Cybercrime and of the Swiss Federal Data Protection Commission (federal arbitration and appeal court).

She is also Board member of the German Foundation for Law and Computer Science (DSRI) and Past President of the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw). In 2011 she was appointed the Vice President of the Information Security Society Switzerland (ISSS).

Ursula Widmer is widely recognised as a leading and senior expert practitioner in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Internet and E-Business Law. In July 2011 she was recognised as the Internet & e-Commerce Lawyer of the Year in the Who’s Who Legal Awards 2011.
