László Nagy is a partner with a dual practice. He leads the dispute resolution practice of the Budapest office, and also advises on mergers & acquisition matters. Mr Nagy has more than 14 years of experience specialising in these areas.
He attended Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary (J.D., 1997), the University of Gent, Belgium (Tempus-program on European Law, 1996-97) and the Academy of American and International Law, Southwestern Legal Foundation, U.S. (1998).
Chambers Global said “László Nagy is an ‘excellent transactional lawyer’ who ‘really understands what M&A is all about and finds the best solutions’ for his clients.” They also describe him as “respected by clients as ‘a gifted and knowledgeable practitioner.’” The European Legal 500 quoted clients as saying that Mr Nagy “really understand[s] our questions and problems.”
He has successfully represented corporate clients in a wide range of matters across his main practice areas, and has particular experience with public companies, public takeovers and defence work, as well as mergers & acquisition work involving financial institutions, infrastructure assets and energy. He represents clients in a broad range of dispute resolution matters before ordinary courts, the Supreme Court and arbitral tribunals, including complex commercial, energy, shareholder, and capital markets disputes.
Prior to joining Weil’s Budapest office in 2004, Mr. Nagy worked for another major international law firm’s mergers & acquisitions department in Budapest and London.
He is fluent in English in addition to his native Hungarian.
