Alison’s practice focuses on the defence of product liability claims involving electrical equipment, industrial components, telecommunications equipment, automotives, and health-care products, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices and cosmetics. She frequently advises and coordinates defence strategies on a pan-European basis for property damage and personal injury cases involving a wide range of consumer and industrial products. Alison has experience in relation to multiparty actions and, in particular, was a member of the MMR vaccine litigation defence team. She also advises manufacturers as to compliance with regulatory and product safety obligations – both at national and international levels – and assists clients with risk assessment analysis and liaison with regulatory bodies. She regularly supports clients through the recall process, advising as to logistics and practicalities as well as legal requirements. Alison also assists clients who face investigation and prosecution by regulatory bodies, liaising with regulatory authorities and making representations on behalf of clients in court.
