Founding partner at Headrick Rizik Alvarez & Fernández. Counsels national and international clients in foreign investment, corporate law, banking and international finances, negotiation and execution of contracts; franchising and distribution; structuring of real estate and tourist projects, aviation law and intellectual property matters in general, including litigation.
She currently presides the Legal Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR), is a member of the board of directors of the Center for the Alternative Conflict Resolution of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo and has acted as president of the directive council of the Foundation of Institutionalism and Justice (FINJUS) and the board of directors of the Dominican Association of Intellectual Property, Inc (ADOPI).
Actively participates in drafting and revision of projects of Laws, including legislation currently in force regarding intellectual property and commercial arbitration, and currently participates in the revision of the project of law for mercantile restructuring and judicial liquidation.
She acts as editor for the area of the Caribbean and Central America of the International Opposition Guide of the International Trademark Association (INTA), as well as editor of Gaceta Judicial, the only legal periodical in the Dominican Republic.
Her professional practice has been noticeably recognized by Chambers Latin America – Latin America’s Leading Lawyers for Business 2011 edition, Latin Lawyer 250 – Latin America Leading’s Business Law Firms, 2010 edition, being praised for her outstanding work in the areas of Corporate Law and Intellectual Property, and the 2012 International Financial Law Review, which recently distinguished her as one of the country’s Leading Lawyers for her advice to BNP Paribas on its $54 million loan to the Dominican government to finance the construction of a four-lane highway.
