Meyer van den Berg commenced his articles of clerkship with Koep & Partners in January 2009 under the supervision of Peter Frank Koep. He was admitted as Legal Practitioner on the 04th of June 2010. He concentrates primarily on mining, corporate and commercial work, as well as litigation and trademarks.
Meyer van den Berg has contributed to publications on various topics, including Anti-Corruption, Merger Control, Mining and Oil and Gas. He is also a member of the Land Law Watch, hosted by the University of Cape Town and has delivered a few papers to this group on mineral law, real rights and foreign ownership of land in South Africa.
His research for his Master’s degree focused on the evolving nature of mineral rights in South Africa and Namibia. He is currently attending the University of Cape Town where he is reading for his PhD. His research for this degree concerns the state control over petroleum resources of South Africa and Namibia.
