Anna Zakrocka is a Polish patent and trademark attorney, a European patent attorney and a professional representative before the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market.
Anna joined Patpol in 1991 shortly after graduation as a mechanical engineer from the Warsaw University of Technology. Her professional career moved on fast when she received legal training in addition to her technical background. She completed the Postgraduate Intellectual Property Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow and attended the training course for patent attorneys to finally became a Polish patent attorney in 1999.
Since 2003 Anna has been the head of the Trademark Department at Patpol. In 2004, the Accession of Poland to the EU opened new possibilities and Anna became a European patent attorney and a professional representative before the OHIM.
Now her work involves representing Polish and foreign clients before the Polish Patent Office, the Polish courts and OHIM. The main areas of her practice cover trademark prosecution and litigation, counseling and opinion work in trademark protection matters, as well as drafting and negotiating agreements.
She makes contributions to various international IP publications and writes extensively on IP matters in magazines addressed to Polish entrepreneurs.
Anna is an active member of international organizations dealing with intellectual property protection, such as INTA, ECTA, MARQUES and ITMA. For a number of years she worked on the INTA committee Law and Practice – Europe and Middle East. Now, she is on INTA parallel imports committee. In addition, she currently serves on Trademark Law and Practice Team of the MARQUES.
