Sergio Olivares Jr. joined Olivares & Cía. in 1987, becoming a partner in 1994 and in 2009 Chairman of the Management Committee of Olivares & Cía.
Prior joining Olivares & Cía., Mr. Olivares trained with two prominent Intellectual Property law firms in New York City, Morgan & Finnegan and Kenyon & Kenyon.
He graduated in 1991 from Universidad Intercontinental (UIC) holding a JD degree, in 1993 he graduated from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in the United States, holding a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property.
Mr. Olivares acted as International Vice-President of the Asociación Mexicana para la Protección de la Propiedad Intelectual (AMPPI) for the 2005-2007 term and is a former Mexican delegate for the Asociación Interamericana de la Propiedad Intelectual (ASIPI). He is a member of various other associations and has been a speaker and moderator at numerous events both international and domestically.
Sergio Olivares Jr., has published several articles and papers in international journals on the topic of Intellectual Property Law.
Mr. Olivares work at Olivares & Cia., is extensive, and has ample experience in various areas such as prosecution and litigation of Intellectual Property rights, particularly trademarks, copyrights, including related litigation, thereof. He has also experience in litigation related to unfair competition and of patents
