Shuji Yamaguchi was qualified in 1982. He graduated Kyoto University. He is specialized in Shipping Maritime, Marine Insurance, Aviation, Land Transport Law. He also handles company law and trading law.

He is an arbitrator listed in Tokyo Maritime Arbitration Commission. He is the ex-chair of maritime law committee of Inter Pacific Bar Association (2009-2011). He is a co-author of Japan Chapter of Maritime Law Handbook and International Multimodal Transportation Guidebook.
