The author qualified as a German lawyer in 1998. She studied law at Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. From 1998 until 2000 she joined a very well-known German shipping company and worked there in the legal and insurance department. From 2000 until 2002 the author joined a well-known German ship-financing bank. Afterwards, the author joined Segelken & Suchopar in June 2002. The author’s particular areas of practice are national and international shipping law, multimodal transport law, ship-financing law, transportation and forwarding law, insurance law, and commercial and corporate law. The author is a member of the German Association for International Maritime Law, of the German Maritime Arbitration Association, of the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association, of the German Maritime Bar Association, and the German Bar Association.
