Mathias Steinø

Mathias was born in 1976 and obtained his law degree from the University of Copenhagen in 2004. Mathias studied at New York University School of Law in 2002. From 2003 to 2008 Mathias worked with the law firm Kromann Reumert where he specialised in shipping-, maritime and transportation law.

Mathias works in all matters of shipping both in contingent and non-contingent matters. Mathias is primarily involved in the following:

• Bunker contracts, bunker disputes and other bunker related matters
• Cargo claims / wreckage
• Ship arrest
• Freight forwarding
• Litigation and arbitration
• Ship financing
• Ship building and yard contracts
• Ship sale and purchase

Mathias has been admitted to the High Court since 2007 and has extensive litigation experience within the shipping field, including insurance and tort matters. Mathias has also dealt with reinsurance matters and advises on general corporate law.

Mathias has since 2003 worked as external lecturer with Copenhagen University where he has lectured on international arbitration, private international law and international sales of goods. Mathias is a frequent lecturer in other fora as well.
