Peter Schaumburg-Müller

Peter was born in 1950 and obtained his law degree from the University of Copenhagen in 1976. Additionally Peter has studied maritime law with the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law in Oslo and studied international law at the University of Aix en Provence.

Peter started his career with a leading law firm and later joined the P&I Club, SKULD, where he specialised in shipping-, maritime and transportation law. In 1981 Peter established the law firm of Schaumburg-Müller & Co. - the predecessor of HAFNIA LAW FIRM.

Peter works within all areas of shipping and pre-dominantly advises in the following matters:

• P&I, FD&D and general insurance
• Contracts and disputes of ship-brokers, -agents and other intermediaries
• Collisions
• Ship sale and purchase
• Drafting of Charter-parties and Charter-party disputes
• Corporate law, with a prime focus on shipping companies
• Litigation and arbitration
• International contracts

Additionally, Peter serves as chairman and member of a wide range of boards of directors in the Danish shipping and transport industry.

Peter is admitted to the Supreme Court and has extensive litigation experience within the scope of his practice.
