Michael McBride is a partner in the shipping department, and has practised shipping since having graduated from university. He joined the firm as an associate lawyer in 1985 and became a partner in 1989.
Since joining the firm he has dealt exclusively with shipping, having undertaken, amongst others, over 4000 vessel sale, purchase and related transactions. He advises shipowners, ship managers and ship brokers on a wide range of issues, including; tax, vessel registration requirements, chartering, sale, purchase, trading contracts and COA's, shipbuilding, insurance and regulatory compliance.
Michael has written numerous articles on shipping, and has spoken at a number of shipping seminars both in Cyprus and abroad. In addition to advising the firm's commercial clients, Michael has also advises the Cyprus government and various foreign governments on aspects of shipping law.
Michael is a founding member of the Mediterranean Maritime Arbitrators Association, and a Special Agent of the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
