A Senior Partner of the Firm, Mr. Serrano obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law in 1994. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Economics degree from the University of the Philippines School of Economics in 1990.

For 2009 and 2010, Mr. Serrano was cited as a leading lawyer in the field of project finance by the International Financial Law Review (“IFLR”) 1000. Prior to joining the Firm as Partner in 2005, Mr. Serrano was a senior associate of the banking and finance practice group of Quisumbing Torres Law Offices (an associated office of Baker & Mckenzie). Mr. Serrano has wide experience in negotiating and documenting all aspects of domestic and foreign loan transactions, advising on the legal aspects of derivatives transactions and other bank structured products, and advising on and assisting in the establishment of banks, financing companies and other non-bank financial corporations in the Philippines.

In 2000, Mr. Serrano was seconded to the Sydney, Australia office of Baker & Mckenzie where he worked with the banking & finance practice group and was able to work on transactions of the firm’s clients in New South Wales. Mr. Serrano has also actively participated in several training conferences in the Asia Pacific region particularly in the field of infrastructure finance, power projects, securitization, derivatives regulation, and loan syndication.
