Alana Goodman Smith is an Associate in the London Office. Alana attended the University of Warwick in England where she obtained her LL.B (Hons) degree in 2004 and later completed the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) at the College of Law (London) in 2005. She was admitted to the Bar of England & Wales in 2005 and is a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. Alana subsequently attended the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad in 2006. She has been admitted to the Bar in Barbados and is a member of the Barbados Bar Association. Alana worked in the firm’s Barbados office from 2006 -2010 before relocating to the London office.
Her practice areas include corporate finance, capital markets and securities, cross-border project finance, mergers and acquisitions, in both the domestic and international arenas. Alana’s experience includes transactional and advisory work for regional and international financial institutions and for a number of other local and offshore clients. More specifically, her expertise lies in drafting finance, security and corporate documents for multi-currency and multi-jurisdictional secured lending transactions, advising in relation to international, regional and local mergers and acquisitions; conducting due diligence reviews in the context of financings and acquisitions in the oil and gas, banking, mining, real estate development and tourism sectors; and advising in relation to international ship financing transactions. Her primary client base includes international law firms, financial institutions; and other multi-national corporations based in the US, UK, Canada, the Far East and the Caribbean.
