Marvin Liebman was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2003 and has been a member of the Commercial Transactions practice group of Lapointe Rosenstein Marchand Melançon, L.L.P. since 2005. While his practice covers many areas of business law, he specializes in mergers and acquisitions, banking and financial services, licensing and franchising. In those contexts and others, he is frequently called upon both to assist in the consummation of transactions and to advise on legal issues that arise in the course of doing business.
Mr. Liebman’s client base is varied and includes entrepreneurs, retailers of regional, national and international scope and Canadian and U.S. banks and other lending institutions, as well as a host of others from a cross-section of industries. He prides himself on becoming well acquainted with his clients’ businesses so as to be able to provide a broad range of both legal and practical advice.
Publications in which Mr. Liebman has co-authored contributions include Directors’ Liability and Indemnification: A Global Guide, published by Globe Law and Business, a division of Globe Business Publishing Ltd. and Getting the Deal Through – Franchise 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, published by Law Business Research Limited. In addition to contributing to features in Global Franchise Law (Corporate United Kingdom / International magazine, December 2008) and the International Journal of Franchising Law (v. 6, issue no. 4, 2008), he was also a regular contributor to the Canadian franchising newsletters published by International Law Office.
