Simon has more than 20 years experience in aviation and transport law. Simon was nominated in 2009 and 2010 as one of Australia’s Best Lawyers by the Australian Financial Review. Further, nominated by the Asialaw Leading Lawyers survey as one of the most highly-acclaimed legal aviation experts in the Asia-Pacific region. He is also recognised by clients and peers as a pre-eminent aviation practitioner in the Guide to the World’s Leading Aviation Lawyers and in the edition of the Who’s Who of Business Lawyers for his aviation insurance work. In the Asia Pacific Legal 500 Simon is regularly recognised as being a leading individual in Transport and noted as being “esteemed for his aviation knowledge”.

He has particular experience with large scale incidents involving multiple claimants. Simon led the team that successfully defended a number of airlines, including British Airways, in the crucial Australian DVT litigation.

Simon advises airlines and other air carriers, manufacturers, maintenance organisations and aviation insurers in relation to passenger, cargo and third party claims, aviation insurance, recovery actions, ticket wordings and contractual arrangements.
