JOEL M. MITNICK is a litigation partner in the firm’s New York office and co-chair of the firm’s E-Discovery Task Force. His practice focuses on antitrust and securities matters on behalf of a wide array of financial market, service industry and industrial clients and on e-discovery matters in all litigation contexts.

Mr. Mitnick began his career as an antitrust trial lawyer at the Federal Trade Commission, where he litigated through trial one of the earliest FTC cases resulting in a technology divestiture. Today, he represents major corporate clients in individual and class action lawsuits arising under the Sherman, Clayton and Robinson-Patman Acts as well as in investigations commenced by federal and state antitrust authorities. A significant portion of Mr. Mitnick’s antitrust practice is devoted to counselling clients on antitrust aspects of mergers and acquisitions (including Hart-Scott-Rodino Act issues and filings), joint ventures and distribution arrangements. Mr. Mitnick has been selected as a leading lawyer in antitrust matters by Chambers USA and Benchmark Litigation. He is a frequent lecturer and author on antitrust topics and issues involving electronic discovery. He appears regularly before federal and state antitrust and securities enforcement agencies and SROs and has lectured at enforcement programs sponsored by the Federal Trade Commission and the National Association of Attorneys General. Most recently, Mr. Mitnick was a faculty member at an intensive ABA Antitrust Trial Skills three-day workshop.
