LAWRENCE R. FULLERTON is a partner in Sidley’s Washington, D.C., office, where he focuses on domestic and international antitrust law and policy, including advising and representing clients in all phases of the merger control process and in connection with other types of government antitrust investigations. He currently serves as one of the Global Coordinators for Sidley’s Antitrust/Competition Practice.
In connection with mergers, joint ventures and similar transactions, Mr. Fullerton advises clients on the antitrust implications of proposed transactions, develops strategies for gaining multi-jurisdictional approvals, and represents clients when transactions are investigated by government authorities, including the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and the various state Attorneys General. He not only represents parties to proposed transactions, but also investors, complainants, and third-party recipients of government information and document requests.
Mr. Fullerton’s industry experience spans wireless and wireline telecommunications, medical devices and healthcare, insurance brokerage, business consulting, electric power generation, food processing, payments systems, financial services, oil pipelines, newspaper and magazine publishing, meat packing, and other consumer and industrial products and services.
Mr. Fullerton is featured in the antitrust rankings prepared by such publications as Chambers USA, The Legal 500, and PLC Cross-border Competition Handbook. He is currently an adjunct Lecturer at the University of Virginia School of Law, where he teaches a seminar on antitrust review of mergers, and he serves as an Associate Editor of Antitrust magazine published by the American Bar Association.
