Guenter Bauer is a Partner at Wolf Theiss and serves as Head of the firm’s Competition and Antitrust Practice Group. He joined Wolf Theiss after working for several years as an antitrust and competition lawyer in the Brussels and Vienna offices of another large international law firm (magic circle firm). Guenter specializes in national (Austria, CEE, SEE) and EU competition law and litigation, including horizontal cooperation agreements and vertical agreements, merger control law, distribution systems and licensing agreements, cartel investigations, abuse cases, as well as state aid and general EU law. He is regularly engaged in public and private litigation (private enforcement). He is admitted to the bar in Vienna and Brussels. He completed his legal training at a business law firm in Vienna and received his LLM from Kings College, London. He is the author of numerous publications, a regular speaker at various seminars, and one of the leading competition and antitrust lawyers in the region. Guenter speaks German, English and French.
